Typos in resumes
These are always held up as the worst thing you can do. Horrific grammar mistakes bother me, but there's no way I'm going to overlook a qualified candidate because they made a typing mistake. I remember one resume I received. I believe we had mentioned that the job involved giving presentations to staff. The cover letter assured me that the candidate was used to "resenting information". I laughed my ass off. What could be better for a library position? And then I interviewed the person.

I love the idea of someone resenting information! I'm sure there's lots of reasons to resent information, what with all the being informative and teaching people things all the time.
I try to overlook minor spelling or grammatical errors on resumes too, although once I received one that I could not overlook. The resume writer was referring to all the work his team had done at his previous job, and it was all "are team" did this and "are team" did that. I wanted so badly to write him back and let him know that "are" is not the same as "our" but I refrained. He may have resented that information!
I was researching local firms to do our payroll and HR business. Too bad the website said they handle busness. On one of the main pages!!! And then, when I tried to email them and point this out, their freaking email didn't work, either!!
hi there, Love it! What were they like in the interview???
That's so awesome - both the typo, and your willingness to have a sense of humour about it. Nobody's perfect, so we might as well be funny!
Lesley: That is not a mistake though - that shows a lack of grammar comprehension
Sunshine: I can't stand it when contact emails don't work
Wisdom: A great candidate. They ended up taking another job, but they were solid.
Katrocket: That's it though - mistakes happen and the person otherwise had such a well written cover letter
Astroboy (ex-bf) once said "paedophile" instead of "videophile" in a job interview, describing himself.
He got the job.
A second chance isn't always a bad idea...
Brice: Oh man, that's hilarious
