Thanksgiving

I can't wait for the upcoming long week-end. I'm hosting the family this year. As with the last time I hosted, I decided not to serve turkey. Once again it will be pepper steak, and this time I'll have gnocchi for the vegetarians. Everyone's coming over on Sunday, so that gives me one day to cook and clean the apartment. Gah! I must learn to be tidier in general so that when people come over it isn't a panic.

We're doing turkey and ham today thanks to work responsibilities. Pepper steak sounds great though! How many people will you be feeding? Just four here.

John and I are hopeless when it comes to keeping a clean house. Really and truly hopeless. So, about 8 years ago we decided that even though we had no money, we would find a way to get a cleaning person, to maintain our sanity.

We have to be *really* desperately broke before we cancel our cleaning person.

Right now we're broke, but not desperately broke, so we're doing every second week. Sanity for $80 a month, how can I refuse?

Plus, my cleaning guy loves my cats and happily comes over to feed them and cuddle them if we're away for a weekend or something, and he already has a key, so it's way easier than arranging with a friend. *grin*

I'm doing turkey, but it's just us two.

Rox: Just five adults and two little kids. Another few adults will be joining for after dinner drinks and dessert.

Mainja: You are so right. I've been planning to get a cleaning person.

Torn: Sadly I don't have much closet space.

Eros: My parents are Scottish immigrants so they aren't that big on turkey anyhow. My brother and sister-in-law are just happy they don't have to cook!

Susan: Thanks!

FM: Actually, it's all coming together. I'm hesitant to write that, but I think it will be okay. I just cleaned the bathroom. Four hours before my parents arrive...

Dan: Thanks. My oldest brother can't make it, but I cherish the moments I get to spend with everyone. And you're welcome to join us anytime. Always room for one more.
