R&R
I am up north right now, enjoying time with my mum. We are hanging out at the local film festival and otherwise just sitting chatting and reading books. It's been over a year since I've had real time off (as opposed to a long week-end). Slowly all the hectic work schedue of the past year - including switching jobs with no time off in between - is seeping out of my psyche, and all the disappointments of the past summer are becoming manageable.
I have a wonderful house/cat-sitter staying in my Toronto apartment so I am not worried about the kitties or my things. Tomorrow I am driving mum and I back to T.O. where we will meet up with my dad who is returning from a trip. Friday I plan to sit in my garden and weed out all the plants before winter. Having a garden has been an unexpected joy for me this year. Sitting in the dirt and picking tomatoes is better than therapy.

You are right about the gardening therapy! There's nothing better than trying to keep something alive!
Sounds like a great time! It's so nice to take time to reflect and get out to a different place and enjoy life.
Have fun with the gardening. I'm the grim reaper to the plants.
Rox: The best part was I did nothing. We had so much rain this summer that I only had to water the garden twice. Apart from that my herbs and tomatoes took on a life of their own.
Eroswings: I usually refer to myself as Agent Orange which makes me especially excited about the bountiful harvest. I love the term "grim reaper to plants"
What's the film festival? Did you see anything good?
My friend called me a dork because my next vacation will be two weeks on a film set.
He can kiss my ass. Movies rule.
Stewie: The film festival was in my home town of Suds. We saw three movies which were all delightful in their own way. Run Rabbit Run was a Canadian independent film about crystal meth and I thought they did a great job.
